You are viewing a Custom Painted Pony by Khw (see excerpt below) called COPPER GENTRY. This custom pony is aptly called "COPPER GENTRY" because he is made to look Kingly while yet appearing like Oxidized Copper. Copper Gentry is an original, signed by the artist on both the small card (Trail of painted Ponies) and on the underside of Copper's Base. He is the only edition (1 of 1) BUT he is also The First of 7 Custom Ponies in this Series of : Metal, Stone or Faux Painted Surfaces. He is also Khw's FIRST Pony Offering, and therefore the most valuable, all things being equal. He is not airbrushed, but painstakingly hand brushed & sponged (8 separate coats) to attain this "oxidized" Copper appearance. He has a 18KT dipped gold leaf as a chest plate with a single brillant deep Aqua/Teal Swarovski crystal at the top. The fine leaf is bent and has a small crack in it. His pale dusty green ultrasuede saddlepad is hand top-stitched in a darker green thread and connected to the breastplate with 14kt gold necklace strands. On each strand is tiny circular gold beads to keep the triple green marble ones in place. The back pad also has this same type of chain & beadwork x 2 sewn atop the pad. The same chain & bead work is continued on the bridle with the exception of the fine double stranded golden wire that is used for the reins. On each of the rear legs situated above each hock is an inlaid Abalone Leaf w/Sterling Base permanently held on the leg by copper-clad sterling chain. The only thing that will be removed for shipping is the breastplate attached to the back pad. He has not been Sealed.. Sealant would either dull the copper sheen or shine the dull aqua matte...either would change his appeal. The Sealant can also turn yellow when displayed, so Kelly forewent the Sealant. Therefore the Artist recommends that he be displayed under glass or in an Airtight/dust-free Case. A letter of information/explanation into future ponies will accompany each pony purchased.
